Affiliate Volunteer of the Year
In March of 2006, I received the National Wildlife Federation's Affiliate Volunteer of the Year Award in New Orleans. The National Wildlife Federation is one of America's largest and most effective fish and wildlife conservation organizations. This was a tremendous honor and especially so because I also met Al Gore who was the keynote speaker. Vice-President Gore talked about the urgent global warming issue. I've been a fish and wildlife conservation advocate for most of my years while living in Washington State. I've participated on the boards of Trout Unlimited, the Washington Wildlife Federation, Save Our Wild Salmon, Mid-Puget Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group, Cedar River Council, Earthshare of Washington and the Washington Environmental Council. I've also held many officer positions in these organizations. The award citation and more pictures are on page 2.
